Stony Point Road reopen after crash
Last Modified: Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 7:01 a.m.
Stony Point Road at Pepper Road has reopened, following a collision involving a garbage truck early Tuesday, the CHP reported.
The blockage resulted in backed up traffic in the heavy fog, the CHP said.
Initial reports the collision occurred at about 6:15 a.m. on the rural thoroughfare near northern Petaluma.
Arriving officers reported that Stony Point was closed from the crash as the truck apparently was across both lanes, the CHP reported.
Further details about the crash weren’t available early Tuesday. There were no initial reports of injuries from the collision.
Stony Point Road is a commute alternative to nearby Highway 101 and typically has steady early morning traffic.
