Petaluma stabbing suspect held

A Petaluma man remained in custody Monday, suspected of stabbing another man in the back during a fight, Petaluma police reported.
A man called police at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday, saying that during a fight, another man had threatened to kill him and then stabbed him as he tried to flee, Sgt. Patrick Gerke reported Monday.
Officers were called to an area near the Petaluma River and Petaluma Boulevard North and found and arrested suspect Jose Jimenez-Montejo, 27.
The victim, who wasn’t identified, was taken to a hospital for treatment and released.
Jimenez-Montejo, who was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and making terrorist threats, was booked into Sonoma County Jail. He’s being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
